Alessandro Florio

(b. 1979)

Lives and works in Taormina, Sicily

Alessandro Florio is a Sicilian painter whose vivid figurative language draws on the landscape, nature, animals, spirituality and visual memory of the Mediterranean. His compositions bring together lived experience, cultural references and a strong sense of myth, creating worlds in which the everyday can become symbolic. Florio’s practice is rooted in Sicily not simply as a place, but as a reservoir of images, stories and forms of cultural memory. Although self-taught, he has developed an increasingly international exhibition and collector profile.
