Alexandra Feusi is a Swiss-Polish artist who lives and works between Vienna and Zurich. She studied at the Zurich University of the Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, where she graduated with distinction. An exchange year at Kyoto University of the Arts (2023/24) had a lasting impact on her practice. Alongside her visual work, she is also active as a musician. Feusi’s practice explores movement as a fundamental condition of perception, situated between Europe and Japan. Her paintings move between fragment and narration, body and environment, where figures appear, dissolve, and transform. Through repetition and variation, she develops serial image systems in which recurring motifs generate unstable, open pictorial spaces. An almost naïve visual language allows her to approach complex relationships between humans, animals, and their environment. Her scenes oscillate between care and threat, proximity and distance. Painting becomes a space where change and transition remain visible as continuous processes.
