Born in Uzhhorod, Alina Sokolova moved to Vienna in 2016. She studied in Bratislava and Hamburg before completing her degree at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in 2021. Her practice, which examines the mechanization of labor and human gestures, has earned prestigious honors including the Erste Bank Art Award 2025 and the Schiele Award 2024. Her work has been exhibited at prominent institutions such as the Albertina Modern and the Künstlerhaus Vienna.
