Born, living and working in Vienna. Johanna Lakner is an Austrian conceptual artist, painter and internationally active costume and stage designer. She lives and works in Vienna. Lakner studied Visual Arts, Fashion and Visual Merchandising at the Academy of Art University after first training at the Modeschule Hetzendorf in Vienna. The intersection of fine art, fashion and spatial staging continues to shape her artistic practice. Her work moves fluidly between drawing, installation, performative sculpture and socially engaged situations, disciplines she brings together in a distinctive conceptual language.
